Hey got a bit of a tour today.  We wanted to see the cliff divers and the market, downtown.  Fortunately, I speak just enough Spanish to let our driver (speaks Spanish only) know I wanted a little side trip to let the "new" folks get a better experience.  We got our side trip and got to where we wanted to go.  Of course, I gave our driver an extra tip for allowing me to massacre the Spanish language.

A few shots of Mazatlan in the distance.. over a million people live here..

etc.

etc.

etc.

etc.

etc.

etc.

One more..

A nice shot of the Patterson family..

Our pick up/cab driver helping Ashley up to the edge of a cliff to access a nice view

A couple of small islands occupied by birds and seal lions.. see the residue?

This is the shot, straight down from Ashley's assisted viewpoint..

The cruise ships make Mazatlan a port of call..

Here's us in an affordable means of transportation

The mexican flag

Cliff diver preparing for his jump

again...

He's about to enter the water.. I took some videos of this, I'll post this later..

The main cathedral in downtown Mazatlan

We took quite a few shots of the interior, but I'll have to enhance them..it's dark in there..

One more before going on..

OK, one more..

A street scene approaching the public market

One corner of the market.. It covers several square blocks in area

Inside...

What a charmer!

Ashley had to leave the "meat department"..there is a goat section, but she didn't see it, fortunately

Pretty clean, neat and refrigerated. I'd buy meat there, guaranteed fresh!

The veggies are good too.. lots of variety and some unknowns in there..

We're taking a walk to the "square". It's actually about 6 blocks away from the market, but we took the 1 mile "scenic" route..

A nice home on the way to the square. Not too typical of homes in the area, except of government officials, doctors and retirees from the U.S.

Finally got to the Square..

Having a burger and some beer...this restaurant is owned and operated by an American. The pictures on the wall are his employees/daughters.

What is the name of this place?

Oh, that's what it is. Kinda nice ordering a real hamburger and fries w/beer. Also the NFL playoff's were on TV..cool.

A sunset, we'll try to take more when less cloudy..
